Who is buried beside John F. Kennedy?

President John F. Kennedy is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. When his wife, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy died in 1994, she was buried alongside him.

The Kennedys had an infant son named Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, who was born prematurely in August 1963, and died two days later. He was initially buried in Brookline, MA, but his body was later interred in Arlington Cemetery.

There are several other members of the Kennedy family buried in Arlington Cemetery, including:

Robert F. Kennedy, President Kennedy’s younger brother, who served as his Attorney General and was assassinated in 1968 while running for president

Edward “Ted” Kennedy, the president’s youngest brother, who served as a U.S. Senator for close to 50 years

Joseph P. Kennedy, JFK’s oldest brother, who was killed while fighting in World War II. While his remains were never recovered, there is a memorial marker for him in the cemetery.

“Arabella” Kennedy, a child of John and Jackie Kennedy who was stillborn in 1956, and whose grave reads, simply, “Daughter.”
