Why did Göring laugh at Rudolf Hess in the Nuremberg trials?

 I’m not sure why the other answers are trying to come up with some sort of geopolitical reason as to why Goring was laughing.

He’s laughing, along with everyone else in that section, at a mistranslation by the interpreter that was quite funny. It’s really as simple as that.

Even the two MPs in the back who understood German are smiling. The one on the left of them apparently doesn’t speak German. The one further to the left is deciding whether he should laugh or not because he wants to be part of the team, but isn’t entirely convinced that they’re not laughing at him.
